Very disappointing meal in a restaurant that I have been visiting for many years.

I travel to the BOP monthly and have always eaten here during my stay in Tauranga.

This week I ordered my usual of chicken cashewnut, Thai Hot as always.

What a disappointment – there was virtually no taste of chilli whatsoever. I requested some chilli and was served the dry flakes. I asked don’t you use fresh chilli and was told the fresh chilli is used in the curries only and the flakes for the stir fry which mine was.

In the past the food has always been delicious with plenty of body and flavour throughout the whole dish and plenty of chilli for Thai Hot.

I noticed a change about three months ago as the flavour had changed and also the texture had become somewhat greasy compared to previous meals. It was also bland and part of the meal was just warm as if it had been sitting for a while.

Sadly not as good as it was but the positives are good portion and mix of ingredients in the meal.

However, I’ll be looking for another Thai restaurant next trip.

The environment could be swisher but that is the only downside and the only thing preventing a 5 star review. Fabulous food with generous portion sizes at a very reasonable price. The waiting staff are friendly, a desert menu would be nice but the mains are so consistently good we keep going back for more – h

The pleasant aroma of Jasmine Rice cooking greats you as you enter this restaurant for the first time
A plain but interesting decor surrounds the dining area and pleasant atmosphere invites diners to say and chat long after you finish your meal
The quality and taste of the food presented and served is without question some of the finest Thai cuisine I have had for some time.
There is a large range to choose from on the menu and every dish is served with rice.
Service received this time can only be described as “Good” although very pleasant, as there was no follow up asking if our meal was to our satisfaction, offers of additional rice or further refreshments were required.
However, I feel that I still need to recommend this establishment and intend to dine there, with friends again.
