Best Indian food in town. We eat here at least one a week. The samosas are huge and amazing. There isn’t anything on there menu that I do not like. My favourites are the Chicken Korma and the Mirgh Mirch Masala. YUMMY

I order here regularly and am having it tonight. The samosa are delicious and are what keep me coming back. The lamb Rogan Josh is also very good but the chicken korma and lamb madras are not very nice and the butter chicken is even worse. Only 3 stars because of the lack of consistency in the quality of their dishes. I have not tried the Korma, Madras or butter chicken in over a year so it may have improved since then.

Food is average… The naan bread was cold and butter chicken low quality. I’ve had better from the plaza!!!! and they make that in BULK!!!!
Also when I ordered, to my dismay just as I was about to hang up what should grace my ears but the disgusting sound of a huge belch… yuck!!!!

Truely Indian taste. I, being Indian lady, am very fond of Indian food. I am a great cook too, and have taste buds which wants specific blend of spices in curry. When I was pregnant, the thoughts of Indian paneer curry always tempted me. We explode all the Indian restuarants and takeways but the taste was missing, they all were sweet in taste, that’s not how Indian food taste. So one day, we were passing by, and we show it and thought to try, believe me I had no expectation, completely given up. But, just want to try once again, we ordered the paneer curry, and specifically mentioned “no sugar”, puls Indian way, the chef laughed and said just try it. Yummy!!! Real Indian curry. Ever since then, Mirch Masala is the only Indian Takeway in our list.. I request to all of you, try Indian curry mentioning No sugar here, really yummy. The cauliflower stuffed Nan are our favourite..Try them.

BEST curry place in palmerston north regarding Butter Chicken. Would never dine in though, strictly takeaway.
The service is friendly and fast, Great tasting food and affordable-not too pricey! I hate waiting long for butter chicken takeaways and paying far too much for butter chicken.
I have had butter chicken from here too many times to count since 2010…and often recommend to friends who also enjoy it!
Although have realised that the amount of chicken pieces are slowing decreasing through the years…

Its the best curry place in Palmerston North. I have been to them all. Always on the lookout for the hottest chicken vindaloo and this place was way hotter than any I have had before. Awesome! Also very reasonably priced and real friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

After reading the good reviews here, and being a sunday evening, when my other indian haunts were closed, I thought I’d give Mirrch Masala a chance.
What a mistake! It was the worst Lamb Madras I have had in a long, long, time. It had 7 pieces of lamb floating in a large soup of Madras. The meat was not soft, and the sauce was not very Madrassy. The Naan was big, but of average quality. The rice was nice, but rice is not thee reason you get a curry.
Compared to the lovely meal I had with friends at Curry Express a week ago, this was very poor indeed.

Like a previous reviewer, we also found the butter chicken way too sweet for our taste. We ordered mild – next time will definitely try medium or hot as there is no spice whatsoever in mild (understandably so, as it is mild!). So I would recommend ordering medium or hot as mild doesnt seem to do the curry any justice whatsoever, and the sweetness is overpowering. Naan breads are huge and lots of garlic

I have tried every Indian takeaway in Palmy. Mirrch Masala is definitely the best by a long shot. Staff are really friendly, nan breads are huge and the Indian Hot Lamb Madras is the perfect balance – hot enough to be a bit of a fight, but not so hot that it stands a chance of winning
. I’ve tried milder dishes too Biryani is fantastic, the missus loves the butter chicken…..just try it, you won’t be disappointed. And no, I don’t work there!

All the curry’s were too sweet for our palate, a pity since I like restaurant/takeaway that has an open kitchen.
Must try the others in the area before going back.Comment from Anand S. of Mirrch Masala Indian Takeaway 15/06/2010Hi Jonathan, Thank you for your feedback and really sorry to hear… More »
