I have been here loads of times and the food is amazing. The staff are fabulous always very friendly. It is a family favourite any excuse and we are there. The menu is great and I like that they change it often so you don’t get bored. I find the price very reasonable. Great to see such an awesome restaurant so close to home.

Lovely food and service. Although even though I am a very small eater the lunch sizes are very small. Cooked lovely though so my only complaint would be for the price it’s a bit over the top. Never ordered lunch in a café before and left hungry. I ordered the prawn and halloumi cheese salad. Got 3 small bits of cheese, two cherry tomatoes, and 6 prawns and some fried capsicum.

Dear Sarah, first we are not cafe, we are restaurant and this is the price for very good quality and stand restaurant. Also the haloumi you ordered is not main meal but an entree. If you wish something big you should order a main meal.

We have eaten both the pizza and pasta (takeaway) and found they were both beautiful. The service is great, and they will tell you how long the wait is. Decent prices for what you get. Will definately be back!

Nearly five stars! Good menu, attentive and knowledgable staff. Well patronised, deservedly. Pleasant informal atmosphere. The meals we have had here have been most enjoyable, and even a selection of Italian and NZ wine at prices I like, which is not so common at good restaurants nowadays.

So what’s not to like!

We have been here numerous times and also often grab take away pizzas. I do wonder however if they have different chefs on duty on different nights as the food can be a little hit and miss. However, tonight’s experience’s totally ruined this place for my family and I.

We were there to celebrate my niece’s birthday and were a group of 8, 3 of which were the grandparents who are in their 70s. One of the presents niece got was a box of Cadbury’s that nanna gave her. We all ordered starters and mains.. then some of us started munching on the chocolate. All was fine and the 2 waiters that served us were nice and friendly and made no comment about the chocolate. Then right after we have ordered our desserts, the female owner barged in and told my niece off for eating the chocolate. It would have been fine if she’d asked nicely instead of ‘excuse me no outside food allowed here’! It wasn’t like we bought cooked food from other restaurant or something. Ironic how they allow people to bring a cake if it’s a birthday, which of course mean they then won’t be spending any money on desserts. We have ordered desserts for god’s sake! So what’ if my niece wants to munch on her birthday chocolate? Needless to say it ruined the evening for us. Seriously not impressed.

I have been to La Rosa to many times to count as well as had numerous takeout. The staff are ALWAYS helpful, friendly and attentive.

The first time I went with my mother who is vegetarian, there wasn’t much to choose from and the wait staff and chef went out of their way to make her something delicious, they are very accommodating with any dietary requirement.

In fact the next time we dined in, the wait staff remembered us and made a point of telling us they had adjusted their menu and added more vegetarian options, we were blown away.

Will definitely be back, is great to finally have somewhere in west Auckland that is value for money.

The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere there was great. I was really happy with my salad. It was really tasty and our sides were delicious also. We had a girls dinner and I am definitely going back with my partner and son next time. Well done La Rosa

This restaurant is the best in the West! We must have driven past this place hundreds of times, it was not until a friend recommended it to us as she had had a great work lunch there a few days earlier! So on the way home that night (Sunday 12th August 2012) we popped in for our first experience! WOW, food, staff and prices were all amazing! From memory I walked out of there and had only paid around $70 for an entree, two mains and two drinks. That week we went back on Monday and Wednesday, and had takeaways on the Thursday night. I am not sure how many times we have dined in since our first experience but It would have to be at least 10 times now, all Amazing!

Well done Tammy and Marcio you have nailed this one spot on!

We have finally found somewhere out west that has great service…great quality of food…great menu…great selection of wine…completely attentive wait staff…great value for money and last but not least a great atmosphere. Fabulous job La Rosa! Fathers Day dinner was a lovely experience! We are totally over paying money for food that is usually over priced….with wait staff who look at you like their doing you a favour of have a surly look on their face as if they don’t even want to be there. Anyway Go La Rosa YOU ROCK!!!!

Food has been good both times I have been. The service seems to be a bit hit and miss. The waitresses saying sorry every time they opened their mouths does seem a bit annoying after a while. However, the atmosphere is good and the prices are not too bad, so three stars.

We had a wonderful time at La Rosa ( Saturday 11 August). The food was superb and the service prompt and friendly.
Even though it was an extremely busy Saturday night the staff kept smiles on their faces and made sure that we had everything we required. Thanks to all for a wonderful evening, to celebrate an anniversary.It was cold and rainy outside but inside was warm and and cheerful.

We have dined here 4 times already and tonight will be our 5th. Looking forward to the new menu.

The food was enjoyable and really, we got what we paid for. Nice to experience something like this in Glen Eden. Good food & service is hard to find.

We returned and had an even better experience than the excellent one previously. Our booking was for 6:30 and we didn’t leave till 8:45

The attention to detail like food presentation is superb. Large white plates and bowls are decorated with luscious Italian food.

Someone had a birthday and the whole restaurant erupted into Happy Birthday for them. The atmosphere here is terrific.

Four adults had a good wide selection of courses and our bill came to around $190.

La Rosa has become Glen Eden, no West Auckland’s jewel in the crown. People know it too. A couple had to be turned away because they didn’t have a booking…

Service: 10/10

Food Presentation: 12/10

We have only just got home from having a very pleasant dinner at La Rosa.
We are very fussy regarding where we eat and I must say it is awesome to finally have a nice place to eat out west.
Service was great (top service from our waiter, although a little hard to understand, she was very friendly and not over the top). Food was excellent . I think this is the kind of place you have to go to yourself and find out about….. We will be back without a doubt.

We had a work dinner here with a bunch of guys from work last week and didn’t think much of it at all. The girls who were serving us were wonderful, could not fault them but the food, not so good. Pretty over priced for what it was too. I have been to a few Italian restaurants and this has to be the worst. I had the chicken breast which was so dry and the bacon was shrivelled, they stuffed up an order and my mate had lasagna, he didn’t enjoy it, very mushy with hardly any tomato sauce in it. Overall the food was not what we had expected and over priced. If it had been amazing then I don’t mind paying those prices. Not one of us said their meal was amazing. Shame because it was our first, (and last) time here…

Went here for dinner tonight with a friend and it was very average. Had the steak that either came with only a mushroom OR blue cheese sauce which I don’t like either, just wanted a creamy sauce with peppercorns, (you would think they would have more than 2 sauce options in the whole place!) and they gave me the steak with olive oil poured around it and about 5 peppercorns on top, not what I’d expected after they said they could do a nice sauce. My friend had the mushroom sauce on her steak which she said was far too sweet and it was runny and watery not creamy, and the mushrooms were plain and put on top chopped up. There were huge lumps of fat in both our steaks and the veggies were plain broccoli and carrot with no sauce or anything, very plain meal for $28 and could have done better at home!! My previous experience here wasn’t good either, so won’t be going back. One thing that was great was the service.

Thank you for that but next time when you do an order make sure you read the menu properly because on the menu said MUSHROOM SWETT RED WINE SO WHAT DID YOU ASPECT SALT, CREAMY?????? OF COURSE SWETT!!!!!!!WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FOR THE SAUCE OPTION IN A ITALIAN RESTAURANT?????GRAVY SAUCE OR BBQ SAUCE,OR INDIAN SAUCE?????THE HUGE LUMPS OF FAT ANYWHERE YOU GO AND ORDER SCOTCH FILLET WILL HAVE THIS FAT MAYBE NEXT TIME ORDER EYE FILLET THEM YOU WILL HAVE 100% PRIME MEAT. THE VEGE OF THE DAY IS BROCCOLI AND CARROTS COOKED WITH GARLIC, OLIVE OIL, WHITE WINE SALT AND PEPPER , WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO HAVE??????? ALSO MY WIFE WENT TO YOUR TABLE AND ASKED WHICH SAUCE WOULD YOU LIKE? YOU SAID ANYTHING WITH PEPPERCORNS AND YOU SAID THE CHEF CAN DECIDE. EVERYTHING YOU WRITE IS YOUR OPINION I APOLOGIZE FOR THAT. I HAVE A NUMBER OF VERY HAPPY CUSTOMERS AND I GUESS YOU SAW TONIGHT WE WERE VERY BUSY AND ALL VERY HAPPY. THIS IS EVERY DAY. A bit disappointing considering we were very excited to have an Italian restaurant in Glen Eden – who would have thought!! We ordered take out and for the amount we paid were very disappointed with the portions we received!! First impressions are everything because if not you just don’t go back!!

What a fantastic find!

We have dined here twice and had numerous takeaways. My partner and I both love this place. The food is fresh, delicious and authentic, we wouldn’t go anywhere else for Italian now! I am gluten free and they were able to cater for me perfectly! I think they are starting to know us now! The staff are very friendly and helpful It does get very busy as it’s only small, so it pays to book! Really well priced also. Love this place, can’t wait to go back again!

A group of us went here for my daughters birthday last night and the food is very good. The menu had a lot of variety. we had to wait a while before we ate. The wait was too long for some at my table as it was nearly an hour and we ended up eating around 9pm.

The staff were nice and we were advised of the wait.
I would go back again, however if it was a special occasion with lots of people make sure too book early as this was too late.

Went to for a quick lunch of seafood chowder and a salad. What a pleasant surprise to find a genuine Italian restaurant in Glen Eden. Good service too – we shall return for an evening meal.

We decided to try the new Italiano restaurant ~ La Rosa.

The food was excellent ~ the service was brilliant and the ambiance ~ very Italiano.

Great to have such a good restaurant in Glen Eden.

Second visit to La Rosa with a group of 9. First visit was when the restaurant first opened and it was great. We were excited that there was finally a decent place to eat out in Glen Eden. Unfortunately our second experience left a lot to be desired. Service was good and staff were pleasant, although a bit slow to serve us. The food was what let them down, mediocre to say the least, only about 4 of us really enjoyed our meals and the lasagne was almost inedible. I tasted it and it appeared to have no tomato base, mince with cheese sauce? The chicken and mushroom fettucine was bland, although the mushroom themselves were devine. Other dishes were of similar standard, we definitely had no oohs and aaahs. Overall a disappointing experience.

Dear Amanda, firstly if you had read our menu i guess you had,the description for our lasagna in the menu is Bolognese sauce with béchamel sauce(white sauce) and not tomato base or any cheese sauce. Our policy are make all the customers happy,i had checked with all our staff and they didn’t heard any complain similar that. When something alike that happen, me or my Wife,we try to fix in the best way.
I appreciate if you can let me know what name of booking and which day was that? Also please contact to us,for we can do something special for you.

The food can be either a hit or a miss, the worst is when they are super busy and you have to wait for almost an hour to get the mains…then it comes under cooked.. Bit dissapointing as I used to come here all the time but unfortunately the experience now is not as good as it was..

I had the best seafood pasta I’ve had in a long time. The second time i’ve been and it was great, the service is wonderful and definately a reasonably priced restaurant. About time Glen Eden had a decent restaurant!

The service was good and the food amazing. The veal melted in your mouth and the sauce was lovely, the gnoochi was excellent and the dessert devine. The garlic bread could have used a bit more garlic though!

A large group of us went last Friday for mine and my sisters combined birthday. The food was fantastic!!! Service was very good. Had a lovely time and will definitely go back. Extra bonus being a BYO!
