Went for the first time and used Entertainment Book Voucher. Glad to have the voucher or would not have been impressed. 4 at the table and had a tiny bowl of chips, asked for a bit more and was charged $5.50. The food quality was average, the main waitress was nice but the prices are too high for the quality of food. The kids drinks are also very expensive $4.50+ for a glass of soda.
The decor is good, but if you look up it is very dirty.

Come to hola alot, food always really nice but always takes sooooo long to come!! Tonight must be a new cook spilt hot sauce over table and came back with a small napkin to wipw up leaving half the sauce over table and getting over car keys! Then walked away and left mess was not impressed! Other then that food nice but as always takes forever to get to table. Needs to change.

My husband and I tried Hola! Mexican Restaurant on Friday night for the first time. The food was nice, the staff were very friendly and the food didn’t take long to get to the table. I think the highlight of the evening was the entertainment. They have a guy playing the guitar and singing and he was fantastic! He had the whole restaurant singing and having loads of fun. We will be going back and taking friends with us for another great experience.

Took just over an hour to recieve basic food that would be prepared. Lucky for the colouring pictures as the kids would not last. Although notified – no birthday surprise as advertised.

2 hours to bring us our food, despite us obviously having a tired 2yr old. No good explanation, no discount, no communication from the wait staff that there was going to be a delay. Food was average, once we’d taken it home and reheated it, after almost walking out due to the delay. Avoid.

We have been here 5 or 6 times over the last 2 years and it has been our favourite Mexican Restaurant. We booked this time for my husbands birthday and invited friends along. When I made the booking the guy asked me if it was a special occasion so I told him it was my husbands birthday and he asked what his name was, not sure why, I guessed they were going to suprise him with something? Unfortunately this visit was the worst ever, food took over an hour to come out and they weren’t even fully booked. 4yr olds meal came out last when most restaurants make sure kids food out first. Most of the meals were cold as well. No offer of desert or coffee etc but by that stage we would have declined anyway. New waitress I think and not very experienced, not her fault the meals took so long though. Very very disappointing. Prices seem to have gone up as well. Also, not sure why they asked if special occasion as nothing happened!

Not as good as it used to be since it changed ownership. The food, service and prices used to be excellent but not so much anymore.

Not as good as Don Antonio’s in LA, but it did very well. Our wait person was great, knew the menu inside out and explained everything precisely.
Great Margharita’s, we will go back.

Great Mexican food with a cozy environment – You need to love mexican food to love the place though, which I do!

I took my dad here at Christmas time, and found it pretty good. Value for money, friendly staff, good food.

Wider drink selection would be good. Other than that, no complaints.

I have been to Hola three times now. It is somewhere I can take my son (vegetarian) and I can eat there as a Coeliac (Gluten Free). The food is ok for cheap eating out but it’s NOT authentic Mexican, its American style Mexican fast food. My son likes all thier dishes with the bean options, which is quite a few. The staff have always been friendly. Affordable but not exceptional quality.

We haven’t been to Hola for a while and the last time we went was January 2010 and enjoyed the food and the margaritas!
We used to go to the Parnell restaurant when it was open all the time now I think the owners have changed at the Orewa restaurant too.
The last time we went to Orewa Hola we loved it. We always want to come back but fear the taxi cost home after indulging in margaritas all night ;-P
I love Hola! the food is the best mexican I have had in Auckland! Fresh, tasty and low fat.
Will post an updated review once we have been lucky to visit again!

Have been to Hola about 4 or 5 times since early 2007, but have noticed that the last few visits prices have gone up, portions got smaller, service decidely average.
Place always used to be very busy, not so much now, possibly due to them been a bit blase now thinking they could get away with average service/meals for more money.
I won’t be going back in a hurry

went to Hola! on a Sunday with hubby and our little girl. was great. the staff were great and the food was as good as any other time we came to dine here. i love it – affordable and child friendly. and those chicken wings… yummy!

We have been to Hola! on three or four occasions, two were for birthdays. Great fresh Mexican food and excellent Margaritas. Great service with the birthday boy/girl receiving a sombrero and sung happy birthday by the restaurant staff. Highly recommend

We went to Hola! for lunch and have to say it was probably the worst mexican I have ever had! The service was terrible, almost like as customers we were a nuisance! Drinks tasted syrupy and the meals were decidedly average.
Will not be going back!

We have now been to this restaurant three times and on each occasion have enjoyed excellent food. The meals are very reasonably priced and with two sizes of meal to choose from, Hola caters for every appetite. The marguaritas are great! Highly recommended.

I love Hola – beautiful meals, yummy cocktails, great service and well priced! We go here about 2 to 3 times a month – the owner knows us now because we are always there! It’s a great atmoshphere, and you can always have a good chat and relax there. The Burrito, Taco’s and Enchilada’s are devine, and so authentic. It’s not greasy or fatty, it’s pretty healthy, and there is always the right amount of food on the plate, with the perfect amount of flavour! i highly recommend Hola – for couples, families, children – everyone will enjoy! Thank you Hola!!

BEST Mexican in New Zealand! Great Margaritas, great prices, kid friendly, very authentic, staff all very helpful and friendly – go there and have some fun!
