Disappointed to arrive from Hawkes Bay for breakfast to find no paper, and no atmosphere. This is usually our favourite stop but felt it lacked the early morning atmosphere that cafes can have. The menu was missing fruit, muesli etc and coffee not up to usual standard

I am a regular at Fusion Cafe and always find it a pleasure to be there. I think they do an amazing job for a small village eatery. The food and coffee is of a high standard and the staff friendly and efficient. I have the Eggs Benedict and enjoy it. Not sure what Kathryn A is all about. A bit of snobbery I suspect.

Coffee is very good. Love their wedges with bacon and cheese. They sometimes close a bit early but I have always found their food lovely.

I have to stick up for Fusion here too. I’m now working in the Ashhurst area and I really like my coffee. Fusion was a nice surprise. The coffee is good and so is the food. The sweet slices are home made (not bought in) and delicious. The staff are down to earth, nice people.

Love this place! I have been several times and found the coffee excellent and the food wonderful. There is a special ambience about this place. always warm and friendly.

Kathryn A, I don’t know what you are on about! The benedict I had was delicious, maybe I am not as cultured as you obviously are.
Did you let the staff know that the sauce was horrible and the coffee was average?? I bet you didn’t just thought you would air your thoughts on line. Typical! If you don’t let them know how are they supposed to fix the problem??

Needs to sort itself out a little bit. Once we ordered and paid for our meals the female front of house attendant (who was in a chefs uniform, but wearing tights as pants, and bright pink socks) then asks the barista if they even have corn fritters. When she finally worked out they don’t have corn fritters they’ve sold out, I had to choose something else. Went for the Eggs Benedict with hollandaise on side. Lucky I did because it was horrible. Straight from the packet which is a big no no in cafes. Coffee was OK, the man needs to do a barista course I think, could hear the milk hissing and spluttering from across the other side of the room. Has some potential, but needs to sort out which staff are meant to be where, sort the uniforms and menus out. I know it’s only ashhurst but things can be of a better standard than this.

Fusion Cafe worth the drive out to Ashurst, the food is amazing, and the staff are attentive and polite. I’ll be going back.
